3M™ VHB™ Tape 4991 is a 9.0 mil thick conformable, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape with a polyethylene (PE) film liner. 3M™ VHB™ Tape eliminates the need for rivets, bolts, screws and welds. It helps provide handling convenience, cushioning, damping, impact-resistance and plasticizer-resistance.
3M™ VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape is comprised of closed-cell foam with pressure sensitive adhesive on two sides. This unique combination offers benefits that screws, rivets, welds and other types of mechanical fasteners just can’t match. In many situations, they can replace other permanent fasteners. They are made with acrylic foam that is viscoelastic in nature. This gives the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties, which helps provide these tapes with their unique characteristics. The acrylic chemistry helps provide outstanding durability performance that bonds high and medium surface energy substrates.
