The 3M™ Rapid SRB Detection Pouch is a compact, easy-test product designed to provide quantitative results in one or two days. Made for water treatment and oil and gas applications, it is used to quickly detect harmful bacteria in water that can cause microbiologically-influenced corrosion (MIC) in critical assets and infrastructure. Choose 3M™ Rapid SRB Detection Pouch for your testing needs.
Sulphate-reducing bacteria (SRB) are a class of anaerobic microorganisms that produce hydrogen sulphide and commonly thrive in water associated with oil and gas operations. The presence of SRBs is commonly associated with an increased risk of microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC). If SRB levels are not routinely monitored and kept in check, they can pose a serious corrosion threat to critical assets and infrastructure. At high levels, SRBs are able to sour a reservoir, requiring expensive remediation efforts.
