Highlights
  • Designed to provide productivity in a number of applications
  • Performance abrasive disc with 3M™ Hookit™ Attachment
  • Open coat construction helps provide a more aggressive cut and minimize dust
  • Load-resistant coating prevents dust and debris from clogging the disc

3M™ Hookit™ Gold Disc 236U is intended for shaping plastic filler, removing paint around damaged areas and scratch refinement of bare metal. The gold abrasives are precision coated with high quality minerals and resins to help deliver long-lasting discs that cut through a variety of surfaces, including paint, primer, fibreglass, metal and SMC. 3M™ Gold Abrasives help produce uniform, consistent finishes and are available in both 3M™ Stikit™ Attachment and 3M™ Hookit™ Attachment options for convenience and reuse.

Designed for use with a random orbital sander, the strong C-weight paper backing on the 3M™ Hookit™ Paper Disc 236U resists tearing and edgewear during aggressive sanding, and the disc is resin-bonded for heat-resistance. These discs also feature an open coat and a load-resistant coating to enhance dust management and cut-rate. A load-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would otherwise clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. Loading is further reduced by an open coat, which means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than obstructing the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.

Suggested applications
  • Use for fine featheredging
  • Primer/surface sanding
