Highlights
  • Four active trace frequencies which can be used individually or simultaneously to compensate for varying field conditions. The receiver incorporates passive power and auxiliary frequencies that do not require the use of the transmitter
  • Graphic display to distinguish between targeted cable and other cables in congested area
  • Four modes of operation - dual peak, dual null, differential and special peak - for accurate locates, even in the most challenging field conditions
  • Precisely locates sheath or ground faults on both short and long cable sections

The 3M™ Dynatel™ Pipe/Cable/Fault Locator 2273-U3T3 is designed to find the path and estimated depth of buried cables and pipes.

The 3M™ Dynatel™ Advanced Cable/Fault Locator 2273 is a microprocessor-based system that incorporates advanced digital signal processing techniques to quickly and efficiently locate sheath (earth return) faults and trace the path of underground cables, both copper and fiber optic (with metallic trace wire). Lightweight, compact and well-balanced, the locator accurately:

• Locates cable path

• Push button depth estimation of cable/pipe or sonde

• Measures signal current in the cable

• Pinpoints sheath or ground faults and cable breaks

• Discriminates between light and heavy faults

• Identifies cable using toning function

• Passive locate of power cables

• Meets CE requirements ("E" - Export versions only)

Suggested applications
  • Telecom and CATV/communications industries
  • Fault finding
