The 3M™ Enrichment Pouch, QEBPWIS225 with buffered peptone water broth ISO is a heavyweight, puncture-resistant pouch, ideal for many sample preparation and enrichment procedures.
Designed to meet stringent laboratory testing needs, the 3M™ Enrichment Pouch has the strength to endure sample preparation and handling processes. Pre-measured with 225 mL (7.61 fl. oz.) of enrichment broth, the pouch is ready to use with no mixing required. Just add the sample, homogenize to mix, then place directly into the incubator. The broth and pouch are decontaminated through gamma irradiation to maintain organism viability and long shelf life. The flat bottom allows the pouch to stand on its own and heavy gage wire closure holds the pouch open, allowing the technician to work with both hands. Once the desired sample has been added, the open top is folded over itself and the wire tie bent over the fold to seal. The multi-layer pouch is strong enough to use with a paddle blender to effectively mix the sample with the enrichment solution. Tryptic Soy Broth (Soybean-Casein Digest Medium) is a general purpose liquid medium used as an enrichment broth in qualitative procedures to cultivate aerobic microorganisms that are not necessarily fragile and will readily grow in this enrichment broth. It is a nutritious medium that will support the growth of a wide variety of microorganisms, especially common aerobic and commonly associated anaerobic bacteria. In clinical microbiology, it may be used for the suspension, enrichment and cultivation of strains isolated on other media.
