Change to Qualitative Fit Testing Exercise Time

In order to be consistent with our Corporate Fit Testing Standards, 3M Canada will now require qualitative fit testing exercises to be performed for 60 seconds. The 60 second exercise requirement continues to meet CSA Z94.4 Selection, use, and care of respirators. This change enables us to provide consistent communication to our customers while capturing variances in regulations by region.

Fit testing services provided by 3M Canada will now adhere to this exercise time change. As well, all Respiratory Protection Training programs provided by 3M will be updated to include this change. 3M™ Qualitative Fit Test Apparatus FT-10, sweet and 3M™ Qualitative Fit Test Apparatus FT-30, bitter kits include a laminated instruction booklet which outlines 60 second exercises.
