3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8547 has a glossy, high friction surface which allows it to be walked on after application, preventing scratches, scuffs, and dings to the surface. As the tape is clear, substrates and coatings can be inspected without removing the tape.
3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663DL is a transparent 18 mil, polyurethane elastomer tape designed to protect leading-edges such as vertical stabilizers against rain and sand. This tough polyurethane backing is scratch, tear, erosion, puncture and impact resistant. The transparent tape can be painted or applied over painted surfaces. The tape has excellent environmental resistance properties and has been used to isolate and protect substrates from environmental damage and erosive elements. The bottom 3 mil (0.07 mm) polyethylene liner protects the adhesive from contamination prior to application. The top liner is imprinted with black lines at four-inch intervals aids in precise installation. 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663DL is qualified to leading aircraft manufacturer specifications for protection from sand and rain erosion.
