3M™ Damping Aluminum Foam Sheets 4014 are a vibration and noise reduction material provided in sheets for excellent per-pound cost ratios. Open cell polyurethane foam with an aluminum-urethane constraining layer absorbs panel vibration and dissipates it to negligible heat, reducing resonant noise and fatigue. Pressure-sensitive adhesive and easy-release liner make for fast, smooth application of this soundproofing material.
Sized for applications with larger damping areas such as sound absorbing wall panels, 3M™ Damping Aluminum Foam Sheet 4014 attenuates and reduces the resonant sound and vibration in thin sheet metal, plastic panels and support structures. It features a 250 mil (6.35 mm) open cell polyurethane foam with a 3.0 mil (0.01 mm) aluminum-urethane backing. It applies quickly and easily to the vibrating component by a strong, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive and only finger pressure is required to establish a lasting bond.
