The 3M™ Cloth Band 747D is a versatile abrasive that can be used to access inner and outer contours for grinding, sanding, and shaping on all metals, including stainless steel and nickel alloys, as well as wood and fibreglass. It conforms to contours to help you remove parting lines or seams, imperfections, and burrs.

For a fast continuous cut and long-life durable performance on aggressive applications, this band features a blend of aluminum oxide and 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain resin-bonded to a durable cotton backing. Resin creates a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure, and a grinding aid on the band helps reduce grinding temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys. The band fits onto a rubber wheel attachment (such as a cushion polishing wheel or a rubber slotted expander wheel, both sold separately) for use with a die grinder or rotary drill. The bands come in a range of widths and lengths to suit different contours and tasks, and are often used in foundry work.
