3M™ FireDam™ Spray, FD-SPRAY-200, grey, 5 gallon (19 L) pail

The 3M™ FireDam™ Spray is a water-based material that dries to form a durable, elastomeric firestop coating. This material, when used as part of an assembly, will firestop building joints, perimeter joints (curtain wall), and through penetration seals.

The 3M™ FireDam™ Spray helps prevent the spread of fire, smoke and noxious gas. It provides up to 4 hours fire protection in construction joints. This firestop spray also acts as an acoustic barrier by minimizing noise transfer (STC-Rating of 56 when tested in a STC 56-rated wall assembly) and meets the intent of LEED® green building program credits VOC environmental regulations. This grey spray is also available in red and features ± 50% movement capabilities. Note: when tested at 50% movement for 100 cycles in a 4 inch joint, product remained elastomeric and did not show signs of cracking. The coating complies with the current requirements of the International Building Code (IBC), NFPA 5000 and NFPA 101. It has been fire tested and evaluated for use in construction joints under the pass/fail criteria of ASTM E 1966 (UL 2079), for Perimeter Joints under the pass/fail criteria of ASTM E 2307 and for Through Penetrations under the pass/fail criteria of ASTM E 814 (UL 1479) Standard.
