Trizact™ abrasives allow you to have more consistent finishes with better cut, finish, and a longer life.
3M™ Trizact™ Abrasives used in paint defect removal and refinement help reduce compouding and buffing time. They consist of precisely-shaped three-dimensional pyramids distributed uniformly over the surface of the disc. As these pyramids wear, fresh, sharp mineral is constantly exposed to the work piece, resulting in faster, more consistent performance cutting throughout the life of the discs.
No wool pads, no mess, less cleanup. Use foam pads.
A finer scratch refinement means less time compounding.
The finish is what really matters and with Trizact™ 3000 and the Trizact™ 5000 as a part of the Perfect-It™ Paint Finishing System, you will achieve the perfect finish.
Follow the new Perfect-It™ EX Paint Finishing System Standard Operating Procedure
Continue to use Trizact™ 3000 as a scratch refinement step prior to using Trizact™ 5000 to have the best chance at reducing compounding.
Use a criss-cross pattern with your dual action sander to ensure even scratch refinement and go over area five to six times with both 3000 and 5000 grade Trizact™ discs.
Trizact™ Discs and Sheets life, durability, and performance are optimized using 3/16 or 5/16 throw dual action sanders.
The new Perfect-It™ EX Paint Finishing System Standard Operating Procedure has a change that includes using the Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pad(05706) with 3M™ Perfect-It™ EX Rubbing Compound. Using wool pads does provide a faster cut, but the trade off is deeper scratches and a messier job.
Use Trizact™ discs damp but not wet. If you run it on an overly wet surface, it hydroplanes. You know that Trizact™ discs are cutting when it forms a foam around the sanded area and you know that the disc is finished when it stops forming foam.
3M™ Trizact™ Discs & Sheets allow you to have more consistent finishes with better cut, finish, and a longer life. Using a 3M™ Trizact™ Hookit™ Foam 3000 and 5000 grade discs will reduce your buffing time and eliminate the need for a wool compounding pad, making the job easier and faster than the traditional process!
