How many times should I pass over the area being sanded?
Use a criss-cross pattern with your dual action sander to ensure even scratch refinement and go over area five to six times with both 3000 and 5000 grade Trizact™ discs.

Trizact™ Discs and Sheets life, durability, and performance are optimized using 3/16 or 5/16 throw dual action sanders.

Should I still use wool pads to get the faster cut?
The new Perfect-It™ EX Paint Finishing System Standard Operating Procedure has a change that includes using the Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pad(05706) with 3M™ Perfect-It™ EX Rubbing Compound. Using wool pads does provide a faster cut, but the trade off is deeper scratches and a messier job.

How do I know that my Trizact™ Disc is cutting?
Use Trizact™ discs damp but not wet. If you run it on an overly wet surface, it hydroplanes. You know that Trizact™ discs are cutting when it forms a foam around the sanded area and you know that the disc is finished when it stops forming foam.
